Authentication Methods

Ennote relies entirely on modern identity providers to authenticate your access. This eliminates the risk of stolen passwords and ensures compliance with enterprise security policies.

Why We Support Social Logins

We understand that managing multiple passwords for different platforms can be overwhelming. That's why we’ve integrated social login options, allowing you to sign in using the credentials you already use for services you trust, such as your Google, Microsoft, or GitHub accounts.

Social logins offer several key benefits:

  • Improved Security:By using your existing social media credentials, you're taking advantage of the security measures these platforms already have in place. Social logins are protected by multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other security features that help safeguard your account.

  • Passwordless:With social logins, there's no need to create and remember yet another password. This minimizes the risk of weak or reused passwords, which are common security vulnerabilities.

  • Instant Access:Signing in through social logins means you can access your Ennote account instantly, without the hassle of entering additional credentials every time.

Supported Auth Methods

We currently support the following social logins:

  • Google:Sign in using your Google account. This method benefits from the robust security measures Google provides, such as advanced account protection and hardware security keys.

  • Microsoft:Use your Microsoft account to log in. Ideal for users deeply integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem, leveraging their enterprise-grade security features.

  • GitHub:A favorite for developers. Authenticating via GitHub allows you to link your Ennote workflows directly with your development tools securely.

Benefits of Social Login Over Traditional Logins

By opting for social logins, you avoid the risks associated with traditional password-based authentication, such as:

  • Phishing Resistance:Since you are not typing a password into Ennote, attackers cannot intercept your credentials through fake login pages.

  • Centralized Access Management:If your device is compromised, you can revoke access to Ennote directly from your Google, Microsoft, or GitHub security settings.

Personal Access Tokens

In addition to social logins for dashboard access, Ennote provides Personal Access Tokens (PATs). These are used to securely authenticate with the Ennote CLI directly without needing an interactive browser session (CI/CD approach).

To learn more about token limits, expiration, and management, please see our detailed Personal Access Tokens guide.
