One-Time Secret Version Share

Ennote allows you to securely share specific versions of your secrets with others using one-time share links. This feature is useful when you need to grant temporary access to a secret without giving someone ongoing permissions to view or modify it.

How it Works

Go to Secret Page

Navigate to the secret you want to share and open its dedicated page.

Generate One-Time Share Link

Click the "Share" button next to the desired version

Select expiration time

Choose how long the link should remain active. 
  • 5 minutes 
  • 30 minutes 
  • 1 hour 
  • 1 day 
  • 7 days

Copy and Share Link:

Ennote will generate a unique, time-limited link. Copy this link and share it with the recipient.

Link Expiration and Access

  • Expiration:One-time share links expire after the chosen duration. 

  • Access:The recipient of the link can only view the content of the specific secret version that you shared. They cannot modify the secret or access any other versions. 

  • Single Use:The link is designed for single use. Once the recipient opens the link, it will be automatically deleted, preventing further access. 

Use Cases

  • Sharing API Keys:Grant temporary access to an API key for a specific task or integration. 

  • Sharing Database Credentials:Provide temporary access to database credentials for troubleshooting or maintenance purposes. 

  • Sharing Sensitive Files:Share a specific version of a confidential document or certificate with a collaborator. 

By using one-time share links, you can securely share your secrets while maintaining control over access and minimizing the risk of unauthorized use.
